Default Part-time 4X4/Full-time 4X4 question

I currently own a 90 XJ Pioneer and have part-time 4X4 but not full time. My shifter goes from 2H to 4H to N to 4L. I've put it in the mud and noticed that some tires were spinning sometimes and sometimes not. Didn't pay much attention to it. Just figured it was a jeep thing. Then I saw on a build thread today that his shifter went from 2H to 4PT to 4FT to N to 4L. Why does he have full-time and I don't? Can I change this? Bottom line is I want ALL 4 tires spinning at ALL times when in 4 wheel drive! Do I have to add air lockers for positive traction front and rear or something? I'm NOT a fan of limited slip when off roading but I don't wanna weld spider gears since it's my daily driver.

If you want all four spinning you need to get lockers for your front and rear axles.

If you were to do that, I would personally upgrade to D44's and work from there.

Oh I have every intention of making that upgrade with 4.56's just wanted to make sure that was my issue. A 6.5" lift on stock axles should bolt up to the 44's right?

4wd part and full time have to do with the axle being able to spin at different speeds.. not wheels for the wheels to be lock you need lockers
