Hey guys, I'm highly considering getting some Bushwackers for my '99. I got about 4" of lift, and 31's. I just keep beating the heck out of the stock fenders. Does anyone out there have a picture of an XJ with about that same set-up and Buskwackers? I'd probably paint mine, but I'm not sure.
Oh, and has anyone bought those fiberglass fenders from Rusty's? How do they look?
Thanks for any input

the one thing with bushwhackers is they crack very easily. so unless you have enough tire sticking out past the flares, they will touch trees and crack.
or if the suspension flexes enough and the tires come in contact with the flares, you will pop the bolt through the pocket snapping that part of the flare.
but yeah, they can and do look good painted to colour match your body colour.
as for the rusty's fiberglass fender, they are made by jeep speed. they look awesome, but again, if you bang them up against a tree or rock, i'm sure they won't hold up very well either.
i've actually abused the chit out of my bushwackers, but my tires stick out past them easily a few inches, thus protecting them from hitting any trees. i've also used them as my bumpstops for a bit too, and only busted one bolt pocket. i still have them, just removed them cause they interfered with my flex.

Oh alright, glad I asked haha. With my 31 x 10.5's, I tend to knock off the stock flares a lot AND rub them on trees, so that probably wouldn't be the best option. Another main concern is how 31's would look with Bushwackers... and so far I've gathered they don't look good at all.
But those Jeep Speed ones look good? I got backed in to a couple a weeks ago, and have to replace my fender anyway.
And thanks again, btw. Saved me some $500

I have them, im pretty sure you cant crack them but they do bend pretty easily, they usually go right back into shape though. They might get a little less flexible with age though. And as to how they look with 31's, they look kinda like this;

yeah, they can take quite a beating, but given the right knock off a tree or rock, they will break. hence some calling them bushcrackers.
i used to use mine as bumpstops...
