I need to change the tranny solenoids. Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical (P0753)

What other parts do I need when dropping the pan? Filter? Gasket?

While the pan is dropped, there are three I should replace, right?
Is there a do not buy rule for this part? Dealer? FLAPS?

I've had good luck with the ebay cheapies at about $60 total. I've had them for a year and they're just fine, no issues, and still ohm out in range.

You'll need a trans pan gasket and it never hurts to change the filter. Others will say no need since it's literally just a screen (which it is); but, it's cheap and easy to change.

If it's just a screen, then I will leave the filter alone.
I am leaning towards getting only the 1-2 A solenoid from Rock for $150.
I will also get a new pan gasket.

Do you know a part number for the gasket?
It's not in the parts diagram.
I am seeing different gasket shapes on Rock.

I did the ebay kit on my 94 and have had no issues and that was 4 years ago.

I will be doing the 3 tranny solenoids this coming week.
Is there something particularly PITA when dropping the tranny pan?
I read about people having issues with the dipstick clearance?
Are you required to pull apart the dipstick? It's a 2-piece, right?
Any trick to doing this? Not sure why old threads make it seem rough.

I heat it with a little heat from my propane torch when I did the screen and gasket. There is an O Ring in there that gets all dry and whatnot. Brought both the pan and dipstick to the auto parts store to find one that fit out of their assortment box.

The solenoids and filter can be changed without completely removing the pan. I just removed the bolt holding the dipstick, then dropped the pan down as far as I could but was able to get to everything. Maybe a little slower, but it gets it done.
