OVERHEATING what's a guy to do
This is my problem, my 1990 Cherokee with an inline 6 and the pressure bottle stile cooling system. Over the last few weeks the cooling system has been sporadic, working fine one day and severely overheating the next. Just today I went out to a job interview about 15 miles from my home round trip I had to stop a total of 10 times to let it cool and add 1-1/2 gallons of water each time. What might my problem be? I have had such good luck with this and the Jeep forum with my electrical problem that I would ask again for this problem. Any and all constructive advice will be appreciated. *

So you just have water in it?make sure you put 50/50 in it and you might have air in the system try running the engine to normal operating temp with the pressure bottle cap off untill you see bubbles or until it overflows squeezing the upper hose while its doing this then put the cap back on. This might take a few warm up cycles to fill the system and get the air out.

Engine: The legendary inline 6, haven't done anything here yet
It also helps to jam a piece of heater hose in the fill cap while your burping the engine, you want the fill cap area to be higher then the highest point on the engine this way naturally the air will try and escape there
