Default Overheating Help Wanted

I have a 1988 Jeep Cherokee with the 4.0L. It's over heating when I drive. The temperature gauge will get to the white line just before the red area. I've replaced the fan clutch, thermostat, water pump, had the radiator rodded, installed a shroud, and have yet to fix the problem. It heats up pretty fast. In 2 miles it'll be heated bad enough where I'm forced to pull over and shutdown. The cooling system has been converter from the closed system to the opened system. I have the radiator with the filling spout and the bottle is not involved in this setup. I'm actively trying to fix this problem. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

If its heating up that fast it sounds like a blown head gasket or a cracked block

what color is your coolant? upgrade the fans that pull more CFMs. inspect the block use engine degreaser and clean as you go to see for any slight cracks. pull the valve cover check the cylinders for any discolor.

Are you sure that it is over heating? Is it boiling over? If not, You should verify the temp with an IR temp gauge pointed at the t-stat housing.

Good call, my gauge said hot but it wasn't boiling over. Changed the sensor, forgot what it's called, on the firewall side of the motor, all good now.
