Question Outer Glass Seals - weathersripping -

Has anyone ever replaced there old dry rotted Outer Glass Seal ?
If so Where do you start? Do you have to take the door apart or does the old one just pop out? I have looked and can't find much information on this. Thanks in advance for any information!

they just pop out. you roll down the window all the way and look down inside the door and you'll see the metal clips that hold them on, just use a flathead screwdriver and with some finessing they should come right out. putting the new ones in you just pop em in and you're done.

I've replaced them back in the day..... IIRC, you can just pull them right out, but it is easier if you pull the window out first. To install them, I remember just squishing them back into their homes (with the window installed and rolled up).

Edit... Oops... too slow.

Morris 4X4 has the outer window seal, but there $58.99 for the 97-01. 84-96 is only 11.99. Why such a difference? I don't have to many junk yards around here, but I'm going to try to find one with an xj this week.
