Out with the old IN with th new

I am no stranger to the xj but i am new to this web site I sold my 97 xj 2 years ago because i bought an 06 silverado for work.Long story short I regret selling it everyday
4.5 superlift rear leaf with rc adjustable shackles
front rc 4.5 coil
skyjacker stainless braided brakelines
custom tube bumper
cooper discover stt 31x10.50
trimed fenders

so I bought a 97 xj and I wana go big this time so I know i wana go 6.5 or bigger (4yrs ago u couldnt find ne thing besides 4.5 or less or it was a rustys 8 inch now the market is flooded with so many options)

If i do a RC 6.5 do I need an sye kit or can I get away with out it as long as I lower the T_case bracket

Also do I need new d-shafts? or is that only with 8 or bigger

Any and all info will be great

Yes you will need an SYE and new DS. I would suggest Tom Woods and nothing less. If you spend the money in the driveline do it right the first time. See the site on how to measure once you are at that step.

RC isn't bad, for the price their LA is worth it. I would also suggest looking into Ironrockoffroad.com. They have good LA radius arm kits for a fair price. Their quality and customer service is an A.

I did a Rustys 4.5 spring pack with a 1" T case drop....I have a little vibration but not bad,,,new Ujoints will prolly fix that. Anything over 4.5 will need SYE

(Slip Yoke Eliminator)

It allows to correct driveline angles when you go higher. Uses a double cardan DS

Np242 w/ the 8.25 combo or something? Every rig is different but most that get the extra inch or two without vibes if from the extra inch or two off the yoke or case length in these. And yes to go crawling any incline would call your DS and case a day right then and there lol.

Pretty simple to tell actually, easier than you might think too.

Whats the shift pattern..
Np207: 2H - 4H - N - 4L (84-87)
Np231: 2H - 4H - N - 4L (87-01)
Np242: 2wd - 4part-time - 4full-time - N - 4LO
Np228/Np229: 4Hi full-time - N - 4Lo part-time
