And of course, sometimes a turn of the key yields less than 5 PSI; just moves the needle. It's intermittent.
Naturally, it's time to replace the fuel pump. I've already ordered a Bosch for my 97 Country.
Anything else i should look at while I have the tank dropped?

Whole assembly. Gotta drop the tank, and it makes no sense to me to replace just the pump, and have to go back in in 6 months or a year to replace the sending unit.

Friend had poor running XJ and scanned it and the fuel trims were +24% and when checked FP found it was 21psi. Replaced FP with another one and FP back up to 49psi and runs well like never before. The fuel sock was also full of crud. Be sure to try and clean out tank of water and debris while you have it off.

Good to know, Marty. I have been chasing an intermittent bad running problem for over a year. I hope this was it. I have checked fuel pressure before, and it was fine, so I had ruled that out. This time, I checked it a half dozen times. Got results all over the map, from "No problem" to "How was this running??" to "Doesn't look good, probably failing."
Yeah, I'll be cleaning that tank out!
Too bad it couldn't wait about 4 weeks. I've got some frame damage to repair, and I have to drop the tank and the axle to do it, and I'm not quite ready to do that this weekend.
So I guess I'll be dropping the tank twice.

Hey Mark..I just gotta mention. My "new to me" white 90, had "long crank", about a year ago. Never a gauge put to it. For a mileage experiment I put premium Chevron in it for a couple tanks. Long crank went away and it started like a Renix. Techron worked on something? Then get this. I Went back to reg and long crank came back. No BS. Went back to premium for a couple of tanks and it started starting again. Now my head is just spinning. Back on reg with different crank times, with a battery that will be changed before winter... So there is that!
