Opinions on BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO Tires?
 

I've read quite a few reviews on this tire, and most people seem, by and large, to like it for an All Terrain tire... something that is quiet and smooth enough for a DD but aggresive enough to play in on weekends, too.

Those of you who've had experience with them... is that a fair statement to make? What's the general consensus on the tire?

I'm especially interested in feedback on the tire in rainy/snowy conditions, since in NW Washington, we get rain 60% of the year and snow as an added bonus for another 10% :P

i don't have them but i have some friends that have and they loved them plus the allterain will do a lot better in the snow and ice then some of the more aggressive tires can

these tires and nice for a daily driver, they grip pretty decent in all conditions on the road. i would say there not perfect but very good in driving in the rain, snow, dry, and ice. i've tried using the offroad without much success. they pack up pretty easy and dont have a aggressive tread i pefer when i go offroad. i would rate them around 7 for offroad, and give them a 9 with onroad performance

For the cost, there are much better tires.. Several years ago I liked em a lot, then found out there are BETTER tires! Imagine that!
Bridgestone Dueler A/T (REVOS or 695's), Dayton Timberline A/T(maybe A/T2's), Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's.

daytons are a POS tire compared the the BFG, and MTRs satisfy a completely different sect of tire use.

i loved my BFG ATs, very good tire.

BFG's AT KO's are great but im currently running the Definity Dakota AT's (which is the same tread pattern) and they have been great to me so far.......I would go with the Definity's simply because of cost i got all 4 of them mounted and balanced for $360 also came with a 50,000 mile warranty (235/75/15's) but hey it's all up to you good luck.......:thumbsup:

KO's are a great tire. But check out General Grabber AT 2's, vey similar and work very well. Alot cheaper too

ive got them on mine... buddy pulled them and the wheels off a bronco 2 in a jy like 8 years ago or something... they have been sitting outside beside his barn since... i got them stuck air in them and they held over night... alittle cracked around the outsides in the treads and sidewalls but there tri-plys and ive had them on mine for about a month and a half now and beat the crap out of them... they do seem to fill with mud real easy but thats why there AT's and not MT's anyway... If you want to play in the mud get MT's... but not BFG's cause they ware like crap and get to hoppin... if the treads are any further then a inch apart on the outsides of the tire then they will eventually start to hop each other and then they ride like poop on the road... BFG AT's are close together so thats why there good still... also Futura dakotas are the same pattern... had them on my ZJ a few years ago... $50 off ebay for all 4 and drove 10 miles to get them with 80% tread... 33's... stole them jokers :)

i would give the genreal grabber at2 some serious consideration, basically the same tire for half the price

i just picked up a set of 31's for mine and they are great

I have a set that are almost bald. on tuesday I pulled out my friend in his cherokee with full exo and 33x13.50 swampers when he got stuck on his property in a mud pit with a clay bottom, shoveled clay with diffs.


would I buy another set? nope. I'd go with a more agressive tire.

the general grabbers are decent. I'd consider them same par with bfg at/ko. would I buy them? nope.

if you're looking for quiet and mildly capable, you will want a/t's. I'm not, so I wouldn't buy them again. I'm between the new goodyear mt/r's and the bfg mud terrains.

Love em.. Had over four sets. On road they have the conering stability of a sports tire, low noise, comfortable ride, and are good in rain and snow. I've always had very good tread life with proper rotation around 5k.. They are not the absolute best off road, but the best compromise in my opinion. Yes, if you are in search for a mean off road mudder, these are not it, but are very capable with the right driver and technique. They handle rocks just fine. I've never owned a set over 31", so I can't speak for the larger sidewall stability, but you really can't go wrong with these. Keep em balenced and rotated and they'll last a long time.

I've been shopping the AT2 and plan to buy them, but I wish they were half the price...check out tire rack for a 31" tire for instance. There's only a $21 difference, $135 for the BFG vs $114 for the AT2.

Hankook makes better, more modern tires.

I had a set on my Ford F150 4x4 and I loved them 265/70R17's.....I love the rim protector too!...it was my DD and was awesome with rainy weather in Florida! Took it out to the beach several times and they were great in the sand and had a moment in muddy situations too. Best tires I had on that truck...better than the stock Goodyears ATS!
