opinion on body lift kit

I'm looking into lifting my 98 XJ. Leaning towards body lift since I won't be doing any hardcore wheeling or rock crawling. But will be slight trail riding though. Basically want to lift 2-3 inches for larger tires. I was looking at this http://www.quadratec.com/products/76117_801.htm

Recommendations please!!

cherokees are unibodies, you cant lift the body. thats a lift

It would be cheaper to go with a rough country 3" lift with new front springs an add a leaf in the back and new shocks for 255 on their website.

oh ok gotcha. moved from chevy so getting used to jeep. i basically mean i want to change out the entire suspension. a somewhat easy job i can handle.

i've read on here quite a few times that there a lot of problems with rough country. leafs sagging, shocks suck etc..

Griff94 09-06-2010 10:57 PM

I was thinking about doing a 2 or 3 inch Rough country lift but don't the add-a-leafs sag after not too long? And new leafs just seem too expensive so I don't know if i want to do it or not.

If i were you, I would do what he said. But, if money isn't a big issue you can get the option of new rear leaf springs for $264 extra with a Rough country 3 in lift.

You can do an S-10 bastard pack. It would be better than Add-A-Leafs

Griff94 09-06-2010 11:17 PM

I guess you would find an s-10 bastard pack at a junkyard, right?

nope. you basically build your own lift springs out of your stock leaf pack and an S10 leaf pack.

yupp and remove some of the leaves in the XJ pack. the S10 leaves have quite a bit more arch so they will give you lift over stock.

X5 on the rough country kit. Sky jacker is over rated. If your going to spend around $300 go for a full leaf pack kit from either rough country or rustys.
