cherokee sport moss green. really enjoy it and the body is in very good shape with only 58k.

I have just a few questions.
I will change all fluids in the jeep asap.
-the oil pressure is at 40 or just under when rolling or throttle, but when I come to a stop it will drop done to like 15-20. Is this normal?

-I also get almost a siren sound when the heat system or a.c is on. Not loud just loud enough. I hear it cycle on and off again only when the heat or a.c is on. what is this? normal ? I don;t think it is but if not what needs to be replaced?

-also when going over some bumps almost feel and hear a rattle. think it is the shocks because it drives solid and no steering wiggle just think it is time for new shocks... any thoughts?

thanks again and gla dto be back in the XJ family to add to my 2006 wrangler (which replaced my 1983 cj-7)

do you only hear it going over bumps? could be your shocks, could just be a loose bolt somewhere. get under there and look around for anything unusual.

maybe your a/c compressor or heater core or something? not too sure

shocks are easy to do. the rears you will run into a few obstacles when the upper bolts break off, someone will chime in with a write up.

If it's cycling on and off when you have the A/C and or defroster on I'd put money on your AC compressor going bad. It's a known issue with these Jeeps. Mine was replaced just before I bought it.

mine did that, I ignored it, had my pully bearing go out, jumped off track, snapped my serpintine belt. If I had it over to do again, I would have lubbed it at least. If it does turn out to be your ac, mid ninties dodges have the same ac set up.

siren noise? try this, open the hood, run the engine, watch your compressor cycle, do you hear that noise? if so, possible just your a/c clutch going out.

I guess it could be it really is only making the noise when cycles on then goes away. So that could be a good sign. Just the clutch or bearing and can be easily fixed??
