ok, so its been a while but pictures of the jeep
Earlier this year I went and popped my cherry and bought a 96 XJ with a 5speed for $2500. it had 171k
how she looked when i bought her. the truck has faded spots on the hood and roof, and i dont mind. shes 17 years old!
had to test the 4wd a little
so after i got her I had to get rid of the ****ty tint, body molding that was falling off, catch up on all the maintenance like plugs, wires, rotor, cap, serpentine, oil, trans fluid, front and rear diff, coolant flush, new bigger battery, new head unit, tear down the headliner and i chose to put in bedliner and paint, and a good coat of wax on the outside. here she is as she sits. still not perfect but shes reliable and i love the truck!
and i moved from Virginia Beach VA to Ft. Worth TX. and then dropped off all my stuff in storage and headed to Chicago to be with family while i was on my dity leave and to wait while i closed on a house in Ft. Worth.
she made it the whole way no issues other than an O2 sensor going out and causing me to get like 12mpg until we stopped at autozone. and she ran a little hot.
all in all i love this truck, most fun vehicle ive had IMO because its something im not worried about parking next to shopping carts, i can 4x4 (havent really taken advantage just yet), and can haul a little bit.
my future plans are 4.5" lift with some mild 32-33" tires and go to the occasional trail ride. if this motor ever craps out i guess ill just throw in a 5.3L LS and call it a day. this is my first jeep so im just getting into the swing of things here but its a pretty easy platform to work on IMO and parts are so cheap and plentiful from what ive seen. i would like to get 97+fenders and grill but its not a necessity. thanks for taking a look! sorry it took so long to get back on here, ive been too preoccupied on LS1tech haha.
