ok so blower motor doesnt work but...

when i put power directly to it it will work on the settings 2 and 4, i dont get it guys haha and it dosent blow much heat

blower motor resistor is out. it controls the amps to the blower motor which controls your fan speeds. when out it only allows fan to work on 2 settings...low and max.

needs to be replaced. theyre usually located behind the glove box on the climate control box. will have a wire sticking out and two screws that hold it in place..
heres a link for price n pic of back of resistor. takes 5 mins to replace..

so would that also cause it not to work without putting power directly to it?

well they all looked to be connected and not blown. but i found out that the reason my blower motor wasnt working was a relay. but it still only works on 2 and 4 i think ill just find a jy resistor for cheap and see if thats it

oh yea...i forgot about the relay for the motor that sits by the resistor. and if it works on the hi/lo settings its the resistor. even though mine was black when i took it out my fan still worked on lo n hi....

Darn Blower tick'n me off

My ac/heat blower hasn't worked for over a year. I replaced the motor...nope. I took the resistor from my sons jeep which worked fine and ...no deal. I checked fuses... all ok. Relays I switched them around and nothing changed. What tha heck?!!!!

Magiksreal 07-06-2011 01:25 PM

Do you havea meter to check if it's getting power?

If you can't be good, be good at it!

Why buy a broken resistor? Just buy a new one from NAPA.

jeffasmi 07-06-2011 02:48 PM

No meter

I don't have a meter, but if it wasn't getting power what would be the solution. Not the fuse, resistor...what next could I check?
