Oil sending unit
I've followed a few posts and I have a question
The 4.0 has a safety that allows bypass at a certain pressure (75psi I think) If the sending unit isnt working right (Mine is pegged out at max) is it bypassing and Im getting dangerously low oil pressure?

no, the bypass is a mechanical valve built into the filter base that has nothing to do with the guage reading. it is there as a saftey so in the event of the filter plugging up it will not blow it off. if your guage is pegged, then the sending unit is shorted to ground. try unhooking it with the key on. it should go to zero.
