Default Oil pressure tap

96 XJ 4.0L Oil Pressure Port (sending unit)

A quick question about the oil press. port(s) for the 4L block.

Is the sending unit port the only place we have to connect a mech. gauge on it for testing, or are there any other ports available?

I want to connect a gauge to ensure sufficient pressure (considering doing oil pump as well if weak readings) - Dash gauges inoperable - before I pull apart and replace rear main & oil pan gasket.
I've read countless posts and can't see any other optional port locations.

I don't know offhand, but it there a reason you don't want to use that port? It won't hurt to remove the sending unit during your test if it isn't working anyway

Or use a T. Use both.

Just wanted to know if there was another port to be able to leave a mechanical one on, leaving sending unit while diagnosing the cluster and what not, that's all. is it difficult to plumb up a multi port assembly for the two gauges to be functioning at the same time, would eventually prefer to have an independent gauge set inside for insurance.
thank you for the quick reply. BTW

Oh, anyone know what size the thread on the port is? simple like a 1/8" FNPT or???
