Default Oil pressure sending unit

I was changing my oil and I hit the gauge sending unit an snapped it off how should I get it out now?

I did that before! I just used a pair of channel locks and unscrewed it without a problem. Just replace it with an OEM one. The are just a little more accurate and more reliable then the ones you can get at any auto parts store.

There's also a special socket that is made specifically for these oil pressure sending units.

Man, I thought I was oily down there... you definitely have outdone me

X2 on the special socket I went to the local parts store and picked one up, got the broken one out. Only problem the socket wasn't deep enough to install the new one. So channel lock to snug it up. Turned the special socket for a refund.

Yes the special socket was only like $10 at oreillys for me. I had to swap mine for my gauge swap. Did make things alot easier. And dang you have an oily mess lol.

haha yah i need to degrease my engine when the weather gets better out, but im gonna stop by the jeep dealership tomorrow on my way to work and get an oem one and try usin channel locks to get the old one out

Just saying it would be better to use a socket made for it, their $5. Especially with all that build up on it.
