Default Oil Pressure Problem?

Since yesterday my oil pressure has been acting up and i checked for leaks and there aren't any and the oil level is perfect. When my jeep is idling, the oil pressure goes down to about 25-30 and when im accelerating normally, it goes up to around 50-55. I never noticed this before, and i always noticed it staying consistently at 40. Does anybody know what could be the cause of this? Or is this normal?

I'm no expert, but I thought that the oil pressure was supposed to fluctuate around the middle mark depending on RPMs?

you may want to try replacing the sending unit and see if this fix's your problem they are cheep and can go out some times when you are getting up in miles

I kind of thought it could be the sending unit. I just wanted someone else's opinion. Thanks for the help

I have the same problem, as long as the needle is somewhere other then to the far left there is no reason to panic. I checked with a separate gage once and it was fine. I do plan on changing my sensing unit one day but it's on my low priorities list...

4.0 inline six: Owners manual says 20-60 PSI in the city and 45-60 PSI on the highway.
