oil pressure guage
my 98 cherokee 'check guages' light has come on. before, when i would go off-roading, it would do weird stuff, come on and off. but when i would get back on the road it would go back to normal and seem to be working right. i did some other repairs on the jeep, involving taking the cluster out, the guy i bought it from pulled the engine light... now ive put it back together, and the light is on now and reads 0 oil pressure and hasnt shut off. im hoping its the sending unit but maybe not. any ideas? thanks

Hook up a physical oil-pressure guage from the parts store to where the electronic sender is. Verify you have oil pressure.
Purchase a new electronic sender.
