Can you take the bold off of your posts. It is like you are screaming at me. BTW 40-60 pounds is a normal range for the 4.0L . Hope this helps.

Put a "T" where the oil pressure sender is on the passenger side of the engine and put a fluid filled gauge there so you can check it against the dash gauge. That is what we did with a buddy's TJ and they are pretty close. I have not done that yet to my Heep but would like to. Got too much stuff over there as it is right now.

Yeah been considering picking up a mech guage. Guage does max out when it is unplugged.
So i assume it is ok enough. As you may have seen from my jeep project thread i have massive amounts of build up sludge oil. So am thinking that the oil pump is probably clogged

Once I saw the inside of your valve cover I would have buttoned it back up and tried my flush sequence before all the work you went through and that only covers the top of the valve-train. You still have the entire rotating assembly that remains dirty.
Well whatever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you. Best wishes and good luck.

Try the clean out procedure I have used successfully in the past. I use 1-2 qts of Diesel or kerosene mixed with 4-5 qts of 30 wt oil and run for about 15 min at idle. Repeat a second time. Then fill and change the filter so you have the oil you prefer in the engine. Change again at 500 miles and you should have that sucker cleaned out pretty good inside.
