oil gage problem....
hey ya'll. just changed my oil today. took it for a spin immediately after to get some sammy adams oktoberfest (yum) and some food for the dog. as i was pulling away i noticed my gage was past the full mark. i know it's not overfilled and it worked properly before the oil change. what do you kind folks think may be the problem?
thanks for yer help! jeff |
Check the oil pressure sending unit, you may have broken it when taking the oil filter off, it happens.
Also, the guage is pressure and not amount of oil. |
i have the same problem, i pulled the sender and it looked fine...is there a way to test them etc? or do i just need to sack up and buy a new one

i just replaced mine. There are 2 kinds, one for a light and one for the gauge. the gauge one that i needed was all of $15 and took 5 min to swap in and works like a champ so dont feel to bad about it. Use some Teflon tape on the threads..
Pretty sure this is the one. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...dName=Duralast Dave |
