Oil cap not coming off and oil pressure gague reading no pressure!

I was driving today and my oil pressure gauge is fluctuating and then read no pressure and to check gauges! Came to a stop and checked the oil and it was fine, the. I looked at the sender and the wires look like they were tapped together half assed job! Apparently the sender was replaced not to long ago not sure why they didn't fix the wiring! I went to add oil when I got home and the cap wouldn't come off, is it because it was hot and is some kind of safety feature with the cap or is it broken?

If the oil level is "fine" (full) there is no need to add, the engine is simply protecting itself.

The first thing you should do is verify the oil pressure with a mechanical pressure gauge. More then likely the oil sending unit is going bad or it is plugging up. As for the oil filler cap. Mine did the same thing. I had to pry off the top half and used some pliers to unscrew the the lower part.

I'm putting it in the air tomorrow! What I did is let the valve cover cool down and the oil cap came right off without having to pry on it.
