The timing chain and sprocket kit that came with my jeep was in an unmarked box. No names or numbers on any of it. I don't trust it to say the least. My last XJ, when I put a new timing chain on at about 200k, I had ordered an OEM chain and reused the sprockets. The original chain had some slack, not bad really, and the sprocket teeth looked ok to my untrained eye. Everything did fine for another 30k until my sister totaled the whole rig. (she was ok).

So for this XJ I ordered another OEM timing chain but this time I actually looked at it closely. It has MORSE stamped in it. I understand from googling they make really good chain.

This may be common knowledge but I just learned it. I thought others may interested to know.

I can't seem to find OEM sprockets though. Of course my originals may be ok, we'll see.. (I haven't started on the engine yet).

If I do need new sprockets, any recommendation on really super good OEM quality or better?
