OEM Roof Rack for a 1992 Cherokee Sport?
My 1992 Cherokee has no roof rack! I have been trying to find a OEM roof rack that I can install on it but I can't find anything from my year (1992). Could I get a rack from a later model 1995+? I would like to stay as true as I can with original parts on my jeep. Any recommendations?

Get gutter mounts. The factory stuff is garbage.

I picked up JCRs which they recommend for weld on application only but I was able to make them work bolt on. Whatever rack/rails you pick up should have the option to hook up to the gutters or factory system.

My 92 XJ now has the Thule Tracker II system with steel load bars. It mounts to the roof rails instead of the gutters and is super solid, and fully lockable. I carry my bikes on it all the time and have been really happy with the mounting system. However, I don't know if their "Fit Kit" for Cherokees is still made; it may be easy enough to find one on ebay or at a local bike or ski store, though.
The gutter mount systems aren't a bad way to go. There is no point in trying to get OEM rails as they are extremely flexy and not very secure. I can probably find part numbers for Thule stuff specifically as I work at a bike shop and Thule dealer. There are plenty of good aftermarket options out there though.
