My jeep is making a weird noise. Sounds almost like a tire rubbing on a fender flare. But its not. It only makes the noise after I go from reverse to drive, then when I accelerate for the first time since the gear transition it seems.

 

is your radiator shroud plastic?

 

Yes

 

Is it still there, all in one piece?


(bad motor mounts can allow the fan to contact the shroud, making a noise like you describe)

 

What about a bad fan clutch? Or fan shaft bearing? I can wiggle the whole shaft that the fan connects to.

 

Anybody have an idea
