Heater core plumbing?

Heater core plumbing?
Does it matter what way I hook up the heater core? I cant remember which hooks to which. See photo

Yeah coming out of the heater core but not on the switch thing next to it. That is why I wanted to know if it mattered

Lots of folks have eliminated the heater control valve and run 3/4" hose from the stat cover to the core, then run 5/8" hose from the core to the pump. Chrysler/Jeep eliminated it on '97 up XJs. If u eliminate it, don't forget to cap the vacuum hose.
