np231 transfer case problem

np231 transfer case problem
when i drive my front drive shaft makes a lot of noise. i checked to see if the u joints were bad, theyre not, but when i shook the drive shaft the the knuckle coming from the transfer case was loose. idk if something is broken. any thoughts to what could be wrong? thanks

Try taking your front drive shaft off and go for a drive. If the problem goes away it is your drive shaft, if not then it may be your TC or something else.
