Default Np231 shift problem

I've researched a bit but haven't found anything. I've got an np231 with an sye and until recently have had no problems with it. I wheeled it pretty hard a few weeks ago and was able to use all the gears in my tcase the whole time no problems but today I went to put it in 4 lo and it wouldn't go. It drives fine in 2 wheel and in 4hi but it won't go into neutral or 4lo. Is there a seperate shift fork for that portion of the tcase or something. The linkage all looks fine. Any advice would be appreciated.

does it just grind when you try to shift it? check your link rods? i had a bent link rod and it would grind when i went into 4hi.

No grinding when I shift into 4hi just completely stops shifting after 4hi like the other gears aren't there and all the linkage looks fine and more ideas

Ok new update...I got under it today and disconnected the linkage. I can shift it the same amount as when the linkage is hooked up so I know its not a linkage issue. When shifting into 4hi something inside is hitting the outter case. I'm pretty sure its the mode fork. It still won't budge into neutral or 4 low and Im not entirely sure 4 hi is fully engaging. Based on this info does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and what it could take to get it fixed.

Yup i got it fixed. Pulled it open and it turned out the main gear and synchro were fried as well as both shift forks. The chain was really loose too so i replaced that as well. So much for the other parts I wanted to order
