Ok so i got my new crank sensor today and got the old one out and i was going to put the new one in but the plug seems a bit different. Can any one help me with this.

1996. Everything looks the same with the sensor just the plug is a little different. It also has round pins in the plug instead of flat pins.

Maybe you got the wrong part from the parts counter? I will go ahead and start looking for my surprised look, just in case.

i ran into this when i did the engine swap on mine. i put an engine from a 96 in my 90. i dont think they gave you the wrong part. only thing that comes to mind is that you may have an early or late model year. you know what it should look like so i would take it back and look at a couple different years. i looked at three different ones before i found the one to fit mine.

Good call on the year because i just looked on advance auto and i need a 1997. Weird but ok i guess lol. Thanks for the idea.

my 95 uses the flat pins, the Renix (87 and 88) used the round pins.

I returned the one i had and im picking up the correct one tomorrow. Pretty easy to replace I just unbolted the crossmember and lowered the tranny a little bit just be careful to undo your transfer case linkage if you use this option.
