Default Nothing Blows Out of Interior Vents

Quick History:

I just had a lot of work done (paint, rust body repair) and tried running my AC today.

Before I go back accusing them of breaking the vents/AC, here are the symptoms:

No matter what I turn the dial too, no air comes out of any of the vents. If I choose foot, nothing. But, it does sound like its sucking a ton of air in at the windshield. I even try to move dial to the defrost with the temp set to cool. I can feel cold air trying to escape near the windshield vents, but it's still sucking in.

Ever heard of this?

Cheers!
Ryan

It just occurred to me that I have a new bumper, and it looks like the air filter in the stock bumper was kept within it.

Do I need to take out the filter from the stock bumper and find place to put it in jeep?

Sounds like your vacuum reservoir is missing. You need to put it somewhere and hook its vacuum line up.

Earl hit the nail on the head. The vent controls are vacuum operated. On the backside of the stock bumper (pass side) there is a vacuum canister, the vacuum for the controls route through that. Relocate the vacuum canister and hook the hoses back up to it.

Agree with everyone else. I'm guessing you don't have cruise control either, which is also controlled by those vacuum lines. I just had this problem too. Found the vacuum line completely cracked under the battery. I've temporarily capped the line to get my heat settings to work again, and it worked perfectly. Planning on relocating the vacuum reservoir back by the firewall on the passenger side.
