Ok I understand about unibodies, I have owned 4 86-92 camaros which is all I have really worked on besides my truck. But when I crawl under the cherokee it looks to be a piece connecting the front and rear subframes. Is this how they built the body and its not really a structure type piece or did i luck out and previous owner put connectors on it. On the camaros the subframes connected to the body and didn't have anything like this. also thank you to everyone I have been reading a ton of post and learning alot. sorry they arent the best pics, the only camera i have is my blackberry

I had a 70 chevelle malibu that the DPO greased...I mean, he greased every square inch of body metal and undercarriage the day he bought the car new (I bought from his widow). In 1992, that car had not one bit of rust on it. He did it by hand with ordinary axle grease. Messy - had to be careful not to let things slip down inside the quarters in the trunk - but it worked.
