Noise diagnosis?
I have a 91 laredo with 100k in overall excellent condition. Automatic tranny. I don't know which T-case I have but if it matters, I can crawl under and find out. I've owned it about 6 weeks. So... when i accelerate from a dead stop, i get a light clunking noise coming from what seems like the shifter handle area. To me it sounds like a u-joint hitting something lightly. It only makes noise from a dead stop and only about 4 clunks. I can't get it to do it while I'm already moving. ie; stomping the throttle at 30mph or so. Any guesses? Fluids are all full but no history on when the t-case was flushed. The tranny was flushed about 10k miles ago. U-joints look factory. I was going to replace all of them shortly. Thanks for any constructive input. You guys are great at these kinda diagnosis.

It does sound like it may be you u-joints. It's easy enough to check them out. Just climb under your Jeep and get a hold of the drive shaft and see if you have play at the u-joints.
