Default no reverse lights! need nss? help!!

So I just purchased my first jeep cherokee and the reverse lights dont work. I checked out the bulbs and sockets and they look fine. I took out the nss and cleaned it ( it really needed it) re-installed and still no lights! The car will still start without any problems so I guess its not the nss or not that part of the switch? any one got a suggestion befor i resort to rewireing the lights?

It's the NSS, particularly the part that detects reverse. It might need adjustment but probably needs cleaning.
