Default No oil pressure

I have a 1997 jeep Cherokee Xj and this morning while I was driving to school I noticed my oil pressure said 0 and even when I accelerate it does not move. I shut it off and turned it back on and it stayed at 0. When I turn the key to the on position I see the gauge jump up to 0 like al gauges do, but doesn't move up when started. Also the jeep seems to run fine right now. I replaced my sending unit about a month ago. Could it be the gauge? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

How far is it to home?

Check the dipstick. If you have oil then it's either a sender/gauge/wiring fault or it's already too late to escape a rebuild.
If you don't have oil... you know what to do!
My money is on a wiring fault, especially if you have "Check Gauges"

Thank you for the information. But I drove it home and I had an extra sending unit at home and I put it on and now I have my gauge back and it seems to be working well it's just crazy that that sending unit only lasted about a month from O'Reillys but I'm very happy it wasn't anything serious! Thanks for all the help!

Check gauges does not indicate a wiring fault. It's to grab your attention, basically like yelling "HEYYYYY SOMETHING'S NOT RIGHT AND YOU NEED LOOK HERE!!!" But that also doesn't mean it isn't a wiring fault either. Do the easy stuff mentioned above and report back.

"it's just crazy that that sending unit only lasted about a month"

The reason I went with a MOPAR OEM unit.

^^ I'm with Earl.

Aftermarket oil pressure sending units are "hit and miss" with a lot of miss. Go with Jeep/Mopar for this one.

Seems to be the story on just about ALL of the sensors for this beast.

Maybe we need a list of which sensors are okay to buy aftermarket! Might be a short list.

Temp senders, probably.

Most new parts nowadays are made by Wunhunglo and his comrades.
