Unhappy no help 4 me in the zj fourm..so,HOW ABOUT SOME..PLEASE!!!

ok,i have a 1997 G.C.L-zj---
and it will stall out on me,sometimes it fires rite back up...other times it'll take between 10-30 min. but it always starts back up.
The real problem is,i bought a 99xj and i really need to sell it to get some money back. It has 265.000 miles on it but it's a very sound jeep.

I've replaced the map sensor, the icm, freash tune up,new battery,3 month old fuel pump...and from what i"ve been learning from the fourm this very well could be a Crank Sensor.

what do you's think? I have a small idea where it's located but I'm not 100% sure,a picture or a diagram,or a (link) video would really help me alot.

so plz. send me some info. before my wife fire's me....

thanks and GOD BLESS!!!!

Do you have a book on it. I know it tells you how to test your sensors to see if they are good or bad.

i have the same problem with a 93 zj 4.0l and i replaced every sensor under the hood i could think of i was told that it is eaither the crank shaft position sensor or there is a sensor under the hood i forget the name i think it starts with a "b" if anyone knows what its call but it controls fuel pressure im pretty sure but i would bet on it being either one of them two things

Chances are it is you cps(crank sensor) that is the route i would go if you have no other obvious problems.

i agree...if it goes bad..engine no worky...

ive gone through 2 on my 2000...each time...the engine would just cut off...as i was driving...really quite annoying. and at 80-90 bux a piece, not cheap either. FYI, if it is a 4.0 with the aw4, its a real pain in the a$$ to reach (at least on an xj)
