No Headlights

I pull the in dash light switch...

I get turn signals, marker lamps....
But no head lamps...

If I pull the High/low headlamp switch in the column I get high beams but if I let it go, no headlamps at all...

I have no idea what the issue is....

HELP!

Have you checked the fuses?
Could also be a bad headlight switch.

NCJeeper 01-26-2011 07:27 PM

yes the fuses are fine....

how hard is it to replace or how much is a dimmer switch?

MN_XJclassic 01-26-2011 08:12 PM

Ill say its the switch I had that same problem and the switch fixed it but ill say its not a fun job

Its more than likely a faulty headlight switch, mine did the same thing.

headlights dont work.

so i went out ealier and my headlights worked tonight at 730, i went back out at 11 tonight and my headlights would not come on but my parking lights and dash lights worked fine.

what should i check?

Check the wiring to your headlights... If wires are properly connected then check the bulb itself...

there is a plug under the hood on the drivers side near the head light. make sure its clean. its a big plug that runs into the head lights and i think all of the front lights. mine gets dirty and i lose lights from time to time

Would you happen to have a picture of it?

Stupid question, did you check your fuses?

NCJeeper 01-27-2011 10:33 AM

Ok I'm confused...

is the problem in the dimmer switch in the column?
Or the headlamp switch in the dash?

Headlight switch. Sorry about my previous post.
The dimmer switch turns your hi's on and off.
