No Crank Help!!!

I have 93 Cherokee Country with an inline 6. I just bought it not running. The starter tested bad so I replaced it. There is a broken wire at the fuel pump. Could that cause a ground fault and disable the starter?

does your fuel gauge work? that could be just the ground for the gauge.

does it click? does it crank and just not fire? do you have dash lights? strong voltage in the battery like bright headlights, etc?

if no crank, could be the nss, try starting in neutral and or key on and jump the starter terminals.

if crank, no start, then i'd be looking into your crank position sensor.

if it just clicks, check your battery grounds and or starter (but since you tested the starter, could possibly rule that one out).

hope that helps.

No crank or click in neutral or park. 14 volts at ignition fuse...turn key to start and drops to 10 volts...starter, solonoid, and starter ignition switch are new. The kid I bought it from said he hit a pothole and it died...has not cranked since. I fixed the beoken wire...it was the fuel pump sending unit ground. I know the battery is junk, I have been messing with it while hooked to a charger.
