Default No bus and Stalling after water crossing

1999 Cherokee sport. 4.0L 4x4

OK, so I was out on a mild trail Sunday, and it was pretty wet. Ended up rolling into a very deep spot, and got stuck, since I had little momentum.
Water was up about 6 or 8 inches deep in the cabin.

- No water in the intake. Was going slow, so no splashing up
- Jeep kept running, and I got pulled out. Exhaust was full, but has dried out from running.
- was idling rough, and definite loss of power, but kept running
- on the highway home, about 40 miles later, it died. Starts back up fine, but under any throttle would die. after waiting 10 minutes or so it runs fine again.

I left it overnight at a truck stop, and went back. Started up fine, drove about 15 miles and died. Kept doing this until I decided to get a tow. At some point here, I lost gauges and "no bus" message.

I left the Jeep idle in the driveway for about 90 minutes, and the no bus went away, gauges started to work again. Shut off, and turn on, they're gone.

- checked TPS, proper operation from 0.86 to 4.1 VDC. Changed anyway
- CPS also seems ok, it always starts, just dies under throttle.
- changed ALL fuses in the passenger side kick panel.
- Electrical cleaner in all connectors I can find.
- changed IAC because I had a spare.

Ideas?

Exhaust was full, but has dried out from running.
wonder what that does to cats huh?
8 inches covers a lot of connectors,fuses,relays in both kick areas. lots to clean up.
pull or lift carpet or floors will rot, mold.
water good for boats,not so good for cars!

Yeah,

I was wondering about the cat being clogged, and considered cutting it out to check, but that wouldn't explain my dash going out...

as for the interior, first thing I did was pull all the carpet and seats, shampoo'd them. Washed the interior floor, and threw down some rust converter on the spots that were starting. Painted the floor black and for now at least will run without the carpet.

I changed every fuse in the passenger side kick, even though many looked good. Sprayed a lot of electrical cleaner there, but no fix yet.

Maybe the dash has nothing to do with the stalling issue at all? Things are rarely coincidence...

P1698 and P1694.

Most people I read about with these problems have a no start condition...

Im working on the grounds now.

Yeah, those codes indicate the TCM and PCM are not communicating on the bus.

If all was fine before the big splash 'n bath,
i'd suspect a water logged connector somewhere, namely connectors where the water/mud reached especially around the CPS, tranny and TCU.

I would concentrate first on the TCU and CPS connectors then disconnect them, inspect for corrosion and then spray both the male and female parts of the connectors with electrical contact cleaner and see what happens.

OK, Ive focused pretty heavily on the CPS and it seems ok,

Ill really look at the TCU now. Here is a video of the jeep lurching at WOT. This is with my foot firmly in the floor.

Cleaned out the TCU contacts, they were above the water mark and pretty clean. I also cleaned out the 3 large plugs under the driver dash. No change.

I left the Jeep Idle for a few hours in the driveway, checking frequently for any issues/change.

After about 2 hours, all my guages except the Tach were working. No bus was still on the dash.

This morning, I checked again, guages came on for half second, then froze where they were. Still no bus.
