Question The next step....need some help!

i am saving up to perchase some lockers for the front diff on my cherokee and i was wondering if it would be ok to just weld up the rear to save a little money? would it last or would i just be wasting my time?

While its much cheaper to weld it you probably have a Dana 35 which is not a strong rear and if its a DD and your going to put bigger tires on it I wouldn't. I welded my Dana 60 in my old J20 and with 37's broke axles almost once a month on the street. If its going to be a trail rig then go for it...Tj

I have a welded rear but it never sees any pavement. If you drive it on the road it will wear out tires twice as fast as the front. Like stated above if you have the 35 get ready to start replacing shafts.

x2! save up the extra money and buy one for the rear especially if its a DD, but if its your trail rig have at it!
