Newbie needs engine help...
hey guys I'm new to the site. I have a 89 XJ, with the 4.0 I6. I am working on it for my senior project. I have took it to the mechanic after my brother and I got most of the major bugs worked out. now I'm just stuck on a few things...
The mechanic I took it to said that the vacuum hoses various other hoses and lines are all screwed up. In other words hoses where they should not be are there and where they should be are not there. I am looking for either the diagrams for the routing of the hoses and lines of the jeep. If someone could take pictures of their engine and send it to me via PM or email that would be great. thanks! |
Go to a junkyard, and take a picture with your phone- then take what you need. There's not too many vacuum lines on these engines- the two important ones are for the fuel pressure regulator, and the MAP sensor- everything else is powering accessories (unless you have an automatic, which a vacuum line could be feeding the shift modulator in the trans).
Or you could always find someone driving down the road, or in a parking lot, and hit them up for a minute of their time. I've done this before a time or two. People will help if you tell them that "it will only take a minute or two to just look at their engine" |
you should post some pics of your project
:worthless: |
i went out and bought a cheapo clymer book for mine and it has the diagrams, if my scanner worked it post them up for ya.
