I have a 98 Cherokee classic i'm trying to figure out the difference's between a stabilizer and a damper? the one i'm speaking of is on the front in connected to the power steering motor. the jeep has 154k on it from looking at it, it looks to be worn out? i'm have a steering problem at very low rpm turn into a parking spot drive way etc. thanks in advance for any help!!!!

The stabilizer, also known as the damper, is a front end part that looks like a small shock absorber.

It is NOT attached to the power steering pump. Your problem sounds more related to the power steering system.
