Default Newbie here!

Hello, I've been snooping around this site for the last few weeks and have to mention what a great site, and a great bunch of people on here!

About a month ago I picked up a '95 XJ 4x4,4.0L Auto. I got it for 500.00 and figured I couldn't pass this up.It's main purpose was for hauling my boat in and out of the water ( our boat launch sucks ). It's first votage into the lake, my wife got it stuck. So I Guess I'm gonna put a posi in the Dana35 ( currently open ). I also am shopping for some 30/9.5/15 M/T's to throw on it. It's not my daily driver so no big deal on noise, etc. Oh yeah, also looking at doing a lift thinking about 3 inch. Any thoughts, recommendations would be appreciated.

I'll hopefully post some pics soon, thanks

Luis.

Welcome.

We got the same rig, and for close to the same price (you beat me by $250 haha). Mine's a 2 dr.

For the lift, you can do a 2" budget boost for about $50 +/- on ebay. 2" coil spacers for the front. 2" steel blocks for the back.

welcome to our addiction. Sounds like you got a heck of a deal.

As far as a lift kit, Rubicon Express is pretty much known for being one of the best there is, however since this is just a toy/weekend ride you could go cheaper and still get what you want.
There are many companies that offer lifts. The cheapest is a BB (Budget Boost) with a coil spacer and lift block or add-a-leaf (AAL) for the rear. The better (more expensive) kits are new coils, control arms, full leaf packs, etc.. I would suggest picking up an offroad type magazine (Peterson's 4wheel and off road or JP are my favs).
For tires, again since this is just a weekend type rig you could go with Treadwrights (http://www.treadwright.com/shopNow.php) They are retreads but you can get cheap MT type tires with common tread patterns.
Keep us posted on what you end up going with.

Thanks for the welcome, I have seen the rough country kits on ebay and they caught my attention. The tires I have in mind are made by Federal ( Couragia M/T).

I'll get some pics of my jeep over the weekend and post them.

Have a good one.
Luis.
