alright its been doin this for a while now since i fixed it in april. my 2000 xj runs great but the temp gauge is goin all whack. sometimes itll read normal but most of the time it stays around the 100 mark. havent really been bothered by it till a few days ago cuz now it wont go to normal ever and i know the temp goes up so do i need a new thermo or is there a bigger problem?

Doubt a new t-stat would change anything. It sounds like you need to check for an electrical problem/wiring/bad temp gauge/bad sending unit.
