main thing is it started first time and 10 times after. i took a ride but i admit i made sure i had my flashlight and trusty screwdriver!...not needed!!!
hopefully the saga is over.
part of the problem is i never had a car with this type of starter, mosly fords with the heavy solenoid up by the batt and a different type of starter, so i had to deal with the new type. lucky me, other guys had used the screwdriver trick or i would have been stuck.

seems like its over.strange to get an intermittemt rebuild. the new one starts faster, almost like not even one rotation.
took a drive for a burger, got confidence back!!
i eliminated the connector in the start wire. one less thing to go bad.
its solid. im still putting in new relay when they get here

It's always a good feeling when you have conquered a mechanical issue. Congrats.

Nice and even better that you got it for the same price. Not a big fan of remanfufactured stuff. Always seems to be a roll of the dice You think you can go farther then your neighborhood now without worry? just throw your screwdriver under the seat just in case

Thank you for getting that taken care of. Told ya it was a bad reman starter from early on lol. Remans are getting worse and worse. I'd take a new starter over a reman any day or give me the parts to rebuild my own that way I know it was done right.
