My blower motor either works or doesn't, but here's the weird part: sometimes when it works no air comes out of the vents. (i hear it working, sounds great)
Sometimes it doesn't work at all. (can't hear it)
I have seen issues with a sensor listed on here. I haven't seen issues where the blower works but no air comes through the vents though.
I think the brushes are going on the motor. Some say thats not a jeep thing, that it works or doesn't, no chance for brushes to cause intermittent on or off status of the motor. "?"
I never seem to know how to use forums. I only see one search window, with a button that reads "go". If i do a search there it takes me to ebay.
I went to the first listed ASK YOUR QUESTIONS HERE forum, and there's NO search bar to ask a question except for the one right before the "Go" button.
I've tried this on every single computer i could find and get the same result, EBAY.
I am not willing to read through thousands of threads to find my issue - SORRY!
Please advise me as to how to use forums. OR how to ask a question on that ASK YOUR Q'S HERE forum page.
THANX!!!
BTW I like this Jeep! First Jeep. It's slow as dirt in the 50-85mph range though.
It runs great, as far as i can tell. It's a 5spd manual. Any tips as to how i can do the speed limit up passes in colorado W/O having to get a super charger OR rebuild my engine with a new cam?
THANX AGAIN!!!

So originally mine had a bad connection on the quick connect leading to the blower under the hood. Disconnect, spray with carb cleaner, reconnect. Eventually the blower failed completely and required replacement. Disconnect wire lead at connector, remove 3 fasteners, pull the blower with fan out, change fan to new motor, resinstall with 3 fasterners(antiseize on theads) and plug in again. The blower motor was $50 from APC supplier.

The model year would be a nice thing to put, since the Cherokee was completely changed in 1997.
On the power issue, give're a nice tuneup and run higher octane fuel. Also try staying in lower gears, i rarly go into 5th just because there isn't any torque there. Also, welcome to the forums!

so sorry, it's a 1996 Sport 2dr 5spd. 196,000 miles.
Now the vacuum controls where the air goes? Meaning when I hear the blower working at full strength and get NO air from anywhere, it's because I have a vacuum leak? Weird, but ok. That sounds worse than i thought it might be. Like a major engine malfunction??? Vacuum leaks are never good for the engine right? Is that something I should take to a mechanic? How does one track down a vac leak?
AND Thank you for the extra advice!

I am used to my Saab 9-5 Turbo4 5spd.

Since the manual doesn't say, what rpms are good for what gears?
I mean how low can i run 4th gear w/o bogging or hurting the engine?(that type of thing)
It seems to run very well, actually. Like it may be running perfectly as far as i can tell. It jumps off the line and is pretty quick down low. I have been afraid to run it at high rpms until i find out what's safe. I would love to see how far i can take 3rd gear and 4th gear on the highways. I've had it for about 3weeks now. I am ready to see what it can do.
I figure I won't call "it" a "she" seeing as how things with nuts should be referred to in the masculine sense.

I haven't found the vacuum leak yet. I followed all the visible lines under my hood. No apparent leaks, splits, holes or rotten sections. It does seem to be when i accelerate that the fan dies. Is there a specific point on the vehicle where the vac leaks tend to occur?
It's almost winter here in CO"!" :}
