the CEL was on and buggin me. the head pipe was also crushed.

i put in a new magnaflow cat. dynomax pipe, and ngk o2 sensor.

no more cel and it sounds good.

i dont see a need for a muffler

 

Now you need a good intake system. That combo will give you some extra horses to ride.

 

I was just browsing and noticed your cel and the crushed head pipe. My 96 cherokee has a crushed pipe also. My cel has been on for 4-5 years. I haven't had any trouble other than that dand cel. The codes always say the o2 sensors. I replaced both and the dang light still stays on.

I noticed awhile back that my header is cracked at the collector. That may be what is causing the cel. I tried yesterday to jb weld the exhuast. needless to say that stuff smokes real bad and the crack reappeared. Oh well. Maybe someday Ill get around to replacing the header and the head pipe.

 

I have the magnaflow too and love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty(salt in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here. magnaflow 15892, or you can try one of the vendors

 

I'm just runnin straight on mine and I got a 98 I knocked the muffler off playin the mud. Didnt know a truck with 35s went through it about a hour before me.It sounds pretty darn good really

 

yea there is a guy in my nieghborhood actually that has the cat and a catback pipe with no muffler and it sounds nice. I would like to do that as well but i just bought my dynowmax catback and magnaflow cat and i also leave at 5 or 6 am 3 days a week and have to immediately drive up a hill so it'd be smart just to wait and run what i got lol.
