Welcome to CF!

Your '95 XJ has fairly low miles for the year...It's just starting to get broken in! :)

Post pics! We're BIG on pics here.

If you have the 4.0 litre engine and it has been WELL MAINTAINED,.....(Hint, Hint).... it could and should last to about 200,000 miles or more.. There are guys on this forum with 300K and more on their XJ's.

There aren't a whole lot of things that go wrong, and for the most part, repairs are reasonably inexpensive when done yourself. Starters, when they die, are a bit on the expensive side. Fuel pumps and filters (when they're inside the tank) can be a pain when they go bad.

MAINTENANCE is key...change fluids, lube all greasable fittings, etc...

I think you'll find this to be a helpful and friendly resource.
Congrats on the acquisition!

cherokee's are good vehicles for the most part. normal maintenance will keep it lasting forever! as far as issues go......crank position sensor's are prone to going out. you'll know when it does...because your jeep won't start. it's not that expensive, just a pain to replace. also, rear main oil seals on the 4.0's like to start leaking around 100k or after. another leak is the valve cover gasket. these really arent problems, just mainly maintenance issues IMO. another thing is watch your engine temps. the 4.0's like to run right at 210, and a little higher in the summer. just don't let it creep up much over 210 and you'll be ok. if you notice it getting hot while you're sitting still in traffic or just moving slowly, odds are your fun clutch is worn out. it's about a 50 dollar part depending on where you shop. an easy way to keep the temps down is to turn on your ac..... it'll make the ac fan spin and cool the radiator off a little better. I had to keep my ac on anytime i went wheeling in my old cherokee to keep the temps down. I was too lazy to get in there and replace the fan clutch.

like everyone else said, keep those fluids fresh and keep up with maintenance and you should be ok! enjoy the Jeep, they're a ton of fun and they go places other trucks only dream of.

I agree with everybody else and wanted to add the harmonic balancer. Thought I would mention it before you go through the grief of replacing 2 or 3 serpentine belts not knowing about a balancer problem.
