Hey everyone, just wanted to give my experience changing my plugs and wires. When I bought my '96 XJ, it had Bosch Double Plat plugs (just found out tonight) and some no-name wires in it. What prompted me to change them was my idle was getting a little rough every so often, maybe every week or two, just for 10 or 20 minutes then it was fine for another week or two. Being no-name wires and unknown plugs, I decided to just spring on some Champion RC12LYC plugs and Napa Belden Blue wires #700444 per recommendation from users on CF. It has made quite the difference in the way she performs. She used to have a pretty decent engine shake between 1500 and 2000 RPM which is 95% gone, which I assume was from a misfire I could hear when listening to the exhaust. This part might be mental and not reality, but I feel a better response on take-off from a dead stop, as well as smoother general operation. In the future I'll buy a quality rotor and cap, and maybe some MSD wires, but for now I'm completely content
If anyone was thinking about new plugs and wires for a '99 or older cherokee (distributor style), then I wouldn't hesitate to get the ones I listed.

Yep. It's amazing what good wires and plugs can do for an engine.
Avoid ALL gimmick plugs (doublefire, triplefire, starfire, latest-stupid-idea-to-fleece-gullible-kids-fire, whatever) and you'll be much better off.
