neutral and remove ignition key?

Greetings, all
How do I put the AW4 in neutral and then remove the ignition key from off?
I know it's a number of turns of the key and a fiddle but I've forgotten... getting old.
Thanks

I don't think you can do that without modifying it some way.

I also agree that it is a safety feature that prevents the key being removed in any position other than Park

there is a thin " park interlock rod", running alongside the steering column, and that is the item that controls the locking mechanism, as per FSM

That's what t/case neutral is for, LOL!

Correct! Do not flat tow with the AW4 in neutral. The oil pump in the trans is driven by the input shaft, so if you're just spinning the output by towing then it's not pumping oil to lube the bearings.

Ever notice the lube pump in an NP t/case is driven by the OUTPUT shaft?
