Default Need your guys thoughts, long or short arm?

So, I've got a '94 xj, 5-speed, 4x4, 4.0L. So, I just got Rustys 4.5" front coils, and 3.5" full leaf packs, with 1.5" shackles. I am installing a SYE. I am wondering if I should go with a long arm setup up, or just stick with adjustable short arm? This is my DD, but I do like to go off road when I can. I also don't want to spend a ton.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
J

your first problem is that rusty's leafs are just as garbage as their reputation for trackbars.

anyways, aside from that, I will ALWAYS recommend longarm. it is worth the money.

well, rustys longarm kits aren't, but you get the picture.

I think my ride may suck more putting this 4.5" lift in while using my stock control arms, not to mention the caster problem I may incounter.

I havn't installed the 4.5" lift yet. It only has a 3" AAL in it now.

I don't do any extreme offroading. Bbut, I need it to be road safe, for my daughter.

Thanks,
J

I have a 4.5 inch lift, short arm and my ride is pretty rough. I can't wait to do a long arm conversion.... TNT or Trek offroad makes a very nice long arm upgrade. It's $900 though, but you get what you pay for. I've only heard good things about that setup.
