Need help with stereo install. NO SOUND
I have a 99 cherokee which I just recently purchased. It did not have a stereo in it when purchased, and I have just put a new one in. The stereo is hooked up correctly, even used a wiring kit to simplify the work. But I am getting no sound what-so-ever from my door speakers, I am only getting it from the sound bar. All the speakers are pluged in (wired) in the doors and they are all after market polk speakers aswell. I am unsure of what can be causing this, and I would apreciate any help. Thanks

make sure you didnt mix up the negative and positive on the front speakers and that you got the connections on the headunit connector spliced the correct way into the factory harness, and also make sure your headunit isnt faded to only the back speakers lol.

the speaker wiring that goes through the body and into the door could have become chaffed. pull it apart and check that out.

the 97 and ups have a tenancy of the door wiring taking a dump. When i traced mine, i found it in the black door rubber grommet unit, where the wire splits factory to run up to the tweeters that came with the "premium" sound system..somewhere where they had their soldering it broke....easiest fix imo is to just run new thicker wire from the head down to the doors, then you shouldnt have to worry about it again!

make sure none of your wires are grounded out. switching the +/- will only put the speakers 180* out of phase, it shouldn't affect functionality of them. are they coax's or are they components with passive crossovers? get a DMM and measure from the connections to ground and make sure its not grounded and measure from the source to the speaker connection and make sure its not open (cut/broke). are you amping the front speakers or running them off the headunit as well? if amping, check your RCAs
